West Indies will have to do without Kieron Pollard and Kemar Roach in the World Twenty20 after both were ruled out through injury. West Indies without star duo for World Twenty20 The defending T20 world champions were hoping to have two of their most valuable assets available for next month's tournament in Bangladesh but neither have recovered in time from their respective injuries. All-rounder Pollard picked up a knee problem playing in a charity football match late last year and while he is close to a comeback the West Indies have decided not to take a risk with him. Fast bowler Roach will join him in watching the World Twenty20 from home as he continues his rehabilitation from a shoulder injury. In place of the dangerous duo the Windies have called up batsman Johnson Charles and the uncapped quick bowler Sheldon Cottrell for the international event. "Neither Kieron Pollard nor Kemar Roach were considered for selection due to continued rehabilitation from injury," the West Indies Cricket Board said in a statement.
