BANGALORE, India (CMC) –Jamaica and West Indies middle order batsman Marlon Samuels is among 31 players who have attracted the highest base price for the Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction next month.
Samuels is on a list that also includes Australians Mitchell Johnson, Brad Haddin and Steven Smith, attracting the top base price of R20 million (US$320,000) for the auction in Bangalore February 12 and 13.
The 31 players are part of the 232-strong auction list of capped players from ten countries, which was finalised by the IPL last week and distributed to the eight franchises.
West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach is among the overseas players missing from that list as well as Sri Lanka pair of Kumar Sangakkara and Dinesh Chandimal, Australia’s Michael Clarke and Mitchell Marsh, England’s Stuart Broad, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler.
New Zealand cricket's new sensation Corey Anderson tops the list of newcomers to the IPL.
According to the new IPL player regulations, it has been decided that all players will be paid in Indian rupees from this year.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

I will never know what some people see in Marlon Samuels.
In my honest opinion the guy is a mediocre cricketer with a shitty attitude.
And he ain't no "elegant" batsman either.

This is seriously retarded. The guy's hardly performed for a while now, and his bowling has gone down as well, I'd say.
I would pick Chanders ahead of him, even in T20s.
