Present and past national openers Lendl Simmons and Mario Belcon were bogged down by the opening attack from leg-spinners Mahendra Nagamootoo (the ex-Guyana and West Indies player) and Marlon Bharat.
Belcon attempted to get off the mark with a lofted off-drive off Bharat put picked out Nagamootoo at long-off while Simmons was cleaned bowled by a straight ball from left-arm spinner Nishal Gayadeen.
Jangoo was joined by Aaron Alfred who used attack as his best form of defence, scoring 41 out of a third-wicket partnership of 57.
Alfred lashed Bharat for three successive sixes, and added two boundaries to his innings (off 31 balls) before he skied one high to Bharat at long-off off veteran national leg-spinning all-rounder Imran Khan.
With the game evenly poised at 73/3 in the 10th over, Jangoo got valuable support from his fellow left-hander Aneil Kanhai as they featured in a match-winning fourth-wicket stand of 54.
The 17-year-old Jangoo struck four boundaries and a six in his 39-ball stay but, looking to bring up his half-century with a swing over midwicket, was held by Khan off Nagamootoo.
Two balls later, Nagamootoo removed Kahnai courtesy of a catch by Hanuman Moonsammy in the covers for 28 (19 balls, two fours and two sixes) but Emrit (four not out) ended the over with a swing over square leg for a boundary to complete the win.
Nagamootoo ended with 2/27 while Bharat, Gayadeen and Khan got one wicket each.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
