They'd kind of whitewashed Kiwis in ODIs and drew 2 tests vs them. I don't think you can expect them to be THAT consistent outta nowhere. Shit happens. It's fine, they're still lower ranked. They're getting there.

Although I wonder if it was the pressure of the whole losing their test status thing - i.e. relegating them to the associate level - that was playing on their minds.

Yeah, Rahim's first interview, he was all like "What's the point of all this if we're going to be demoted" - which is why I kinda suspected this. Also dropped a lot of catches - that's uncharacteristic of them, lately. I would certainly say it's psychological pressure.

Had they played Mahmudullah,they could have avoided this crushing defeat at least.Not that i am holding mahmudullah high,he probably could have,just could have averted these.he is quite experienced and is a proven all rounder.
