In Gayle's absence the team will be led by vice-captain, all-rounder David Bernard Jr.

Bernard Jr, who captained Jamaica at the Caribbean Twenty20 in 2012, will be assisted by left-arm spinner Nikita Miller, who has been handed the role of vice-captain.

Last season's Super50 captain Tamar Lambert, who is expected to lead the national four-day team starting late next month, was overlooked for the Super50 positions.
