Kingston, Jamaica: The Caribbean Premier League has announced that former West Indies Players Association (WIPA) CEO, Michael Hall, has joined its team. Hall will be tasked with building on the success of the inaugural six-team T20 cricket tournament which was watched by millions in the Caribbean and around the world last summer.
Commenting on the appointment, Damien O’Donohoe, CEO of the Caribbean Premier League said; “Our aim is to deliver the most unique, most entertaining and action packed T20 tournament in world cricket and based on our 2013 launch, we feel that we’ve got off to a great start."
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

His role in cricket administration began in 2001, when he was appointed Chief Cricket Operations Officer at the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
In 2004 he was named Executive Director of Jamaica Cricket 2007 Ltd., where he spearheaded Jamaica’s successful bid for the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup packages.
He was hired in 2005 as the Cricket Operations Director for the 2007 Cricket World Cup and led the team which successfully managed
the moment-by-moment activities and logistical movements of all sixteen 25-man squads and the match officials
who took part in the tournament.
He joined WIPA in November 2010 as a non-Executive Director and was appointed CEO in April 2012 following the
retirement of Dinanath Ramnarine.

That 2007 WC tournament, I recall, was an abject commercial failure.
Is that correct?

Ketchy,
I am not trying to get into that 'ting' my friend.
However his role in the WC seems to be logistics and reference to his new role 'building on the success' means little in telling us what he is really charged with.
Thanks brother.

Damien O’Donohoe,
CEO of the Caribbean Premier League said :
“For CPL to continue making an impact in terms of entertainment and economic value, it’s vital that the best people are in place to deliver a world class event.
Michael Hall is central to those plans.
He has proved himself at every level of the game to be an excellent cricket administrator
and the whole CPL team look forward to working with him to continue to surprise and delight
cricket fans in the Caribbean and all over the world with what has become known as the
biggest party in sport.â€

Ok but if now it is about economic value he has more leeway for errors but the WC was an abject failure commercially so I am not sure he is the right man for this.
Why does the region not use its best business brains in business matters?

I think O' Donohue owner of the CPL has a better view than Chin.
They are actually paying Hall for their belief in him.
Who am I to question their choice ??
The fact that I can do better is immaterial
