West Indies batsman Chris Gayle will not join the Dolphins for the Ram Slam cricket competition because of an injury he sustained while playing for his national side, the Durban-based franchise announced on Wednesday.
Based on medical advice, Gayle had opted not to make the trip to Durban to allow his injury more time to recover.
"I am devastated not to be able to join up with the Dolphins this year," Gayle said in a statement.
"It's the second time I have been unable to play with them because of injury, so it's extremely frustrating.
"I wish the guys all the best with their campaign and hopefully it's third time lucky should I have the opportunity to play for the Dolphins in the future."
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Tough break there for Gayle, he is one of my favourite West Indian cricketers, not only because we're both Jamaicans, but because he's a phenomenal player when he's on form. I hope his injury isn't very serious and that he'll be back on his feet very quickly, and ready to deliver us some good cricket.
