Evin Lewis dominated the second day of the three-day match yesterday, banging 124 for T&T ‘B’, as the T&T trials continued at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva. The T&T ‘B’ batsmen, who were bundled out for 63 on Friday in their first innings, found some form yesterday. Left-handed Lewis, who was T&T’s top batsman at the Karbonn Smart T20 Champions League in India last year, struck 10 fours and three sixes in his 134-ball innings. His Powergen teammate Jason Mohammed, also showed some form, ending the day’s play on 68 not out. Kjorn Ottley (43) and Jonathan Augustus (32) added to the total, as T&T ‘B’ closed on a commanding 339/8, with an overall lead of 317 runs. Off-spin bowler Sherwin Ganga, was the most effective for T&T ‘A’, grabbing 2/44. Amit Jaggernauth and Kissoondath Magram also snatched two wickets apiece, taking 2/48 and 2/118 respectively. Earlier, resuming on its overnight 77/9, T&T ‘A’ was dismissed for 85 in the first innings. The T&T ‘A’ batsmen will be looking for runs in today’s final day, while the ‘B’ team will be confident of an outright win.
