Only in the West Indies would a #2 ranked test batsman be deemed not good enough to play in onedayers.
Check out the Top 6 test batsmen:
1. Devilliers(SA)
2. Chanderpaul(WI)
3. Taylor(NZ)
4. Amla(SA)
5. Sangakkara(SL)
6. Clarke(Aus)
www.relianceiccrankings.com/ranking/test/batting/
* 5 of the 6 play in both tests and onedayers.
*
Coach Otis Gibson and the WI selectors in their spitefulness and vindictiveness have deemed the #2 ranked test batsman not good enough to play onedayers for the West Indies.
* And guess what folks ? Most fans agree with Gibson and the selectors.
* It is a joy to see West Indies cricket in the toilet.
* The Rev supports every team against the West Indies in onedayers.
* As long as Gibson is coach I will never support the WI in onedayers.

Otis Gibson and the West Indies selectors don't want this man in the West Indies oneday team and many WI fans are happy with that. Well, let them punish and suffer.

As long as Otis Gibson is coach of the West Indies and Clyde Butts is chief selector the West Indies must never win a test series or a oneday series. Gibson and Butts are cancerous to West Indies cricket and need to be fired. But there is a good chance they wont be fired and so the WI must continue losing as long as those 2 skunks, Gibson and Butts, are there.
* Anyway, once Shiv gets to 12,000 test runs in 2014 or early 2015.
* And then resets his goal to 13,000 test runs and achieves that goal in 2015 or 2016.
* That's all that matters.
* Who cares if the WI never wins another test or one day series ?

Coach Otis Gibson and Chief selector Clyde Butts are evil, wretched men--Both are spiteful and vindictive.

I have said elsewhere, given the loss of key players you would have thought the selectors would have retained Shiv to ensure some experience.
Besides the man is producing at a high level.....

* When Shiv was dropped after the 2011 world cup----his strike rate in his last 16 matches was only 64.70
* So he deserved to be dropped then.
* But the young players who were brought in
they have been failing.
* And now you have the selectors choosing to play 4 wicketkeepers
Charles, Walton, Ramdin and Simmons
but still no Shiv.
* It is clear that Gibson and the selectors are being nasty and vindictive.
* How can a man who is the #2 ranked test batsman in the world not be good enough for a pi$$ poor oneday team like the West Indies ?

I do not think because you have a test ranking of 2 you have an automatic place in the ODI team as some players are not suited to that format.
However when you replace someone you bring something better and that does not seem to be the case although extended runs have been given from what I can see.
Chanderpaul, despite the 66 or so average before his dropping, should have been retained and made to open as that is what he might do best given his avarice for being at the crease.
Not sure many current and established players have a better record than him. I am not sure, of his contemporaries, Gayle has a better record.
Does he?

* Chanderpaul is the #2 ranked test batsman in the world today.
* In 268 onedayers Chanderpaul has scored 8778 runs at an average of 41.60 with 11 hundreds and 59 fifties and a strike rate of 70.76
* Are you saying Shiv is not suited to the oneday format ?
* If you are---then you don't know cricket.

Gayle is injured fine
Shouldn't shiv be recalled to help
The fucking ass hole don't have the guts to apologies to the man
Butts need to get it checked out
In the American NFL or MLB they alway recall players to help in time of injury
