Cricket fans should keep a close eye on the weather as the Black Caps take on the West Indies at the Basin Reserve this week.
The second test between the West Indies and the Black Caps starts on Wednesday and weather is looking fine for that, but showers with a possibility of thunder are forecast for Friday.
MetService meteorologist John Law said the weather for most of the country was looking fine for the start of the week, with temperatures expected to reach the twenties.
"Friday could be a day to keep an eye on the radar with a brief shower not out of the question," said Mr Law
