Today I was with my dad a man of 85 years and one greatest cricket fan that I know and I grilled him as to to some of his favorite cricketers that he saw and His answers surprised me.
He claimed that the fastest bowlers that he ever saw was Roy Gilchrist Rupert trim and Jafer Ali Khan.
Best spin bowlers Ganim Khan and Lance gibbs . I responded that I heard of some of them and not the others and he explained about socioeconomic situations in the days and why some never made it.
Lookin back to the contemporary situation , seems like nuthin has changed from the 50ies

Kwams .... I'm so sorry to hear of your Dad's recent illness and wish him a speedy recovery.
Cherish your Dad's presence and all the cricket nostalgia moments he's sharing with you...

Your father kept wonderful company !
Lemme remind you that my Uncle Ganim was a victim of racist politics :
not socioeconomic as they would have you believe !
Uncle Ganim died of Cancer in Winnipeg , Manitoba in the late 80s..

and of course my Uncle Edwin Mohammed ...
Mapoui told me he was a perfect foil for Lance Gibbs.
Alas , there was the matter of dubious Selectors .
Unfortunately Uncle Eddie son , my cousin Timur suffered a similar faith !
