OK Folks! The next time you look at a cricket match pay attention to batsmen who average 50+ in tests and batsmen who average 40+ or 30+. You'll notice a huge chasm between 50+ batsmen and the lesser batsmen. Maybe you have already noted the difference between the 2 classes of batsmen. What are the differences you have noticed ?
OBSERVATION:
* Batsmen averaging 50+ seem to have more time playing deliveries---whether its from quicks or spinners.
* Batsmen averaging 50+ are rarely hurried by bowlers.
* Batsmen averaging 50+ look more solid at the crease against any kind of bowlers.
* Batsmen averaging 50+ look more balanced.
* Batsmen averaging 50+ play their shots later than the lesser batsmen.
What do you folks say ? True or false ?
Any other observation ?
Rev

Also the approach to the Middle :
the Confident walk , the taking of guard , the look around at Field placement
and the signal to Umpire that he is Ready for ball 1 ...
Lara , Shiv, Sachin , Ponting , Waugh.....recently Amla and Michael Clarke !

tl;dr version: Batsman who average 50+ are technically sound and confident. Because they are.. really good.
Why wouldn't anyone agree with that?
BTWthis is questionable though.

Ketchy:
Pay close attention to Shiv the next time he bats---he looks ugly when he sets up---but the bhai rarely gets hurried---he always seem to have more time----and always looks comfortable at the crease. Oh! That's right! Shiv is a 50+ batsman---he averages 51.89 after 149 tests----that's higher than Ponting's 51.85 after 168 tests.
By the way, Shiv made a huge mistake here---he miscalculated big time---even 50+ batsman make errors. ;D

Otis has no choice but to praise the great man---the great man is being praised from all corners of the cricket world.
He(Otis) played a big part in dropping the great man from onedayers, and if he had his way the great man would have been discarded from tests. So the Rev doesn't pay heed to Gibson.
By the way, after Shiv was dropped from the onedayers the Rev stooped supporting the WI in that version of the game---hope India slaughters them in the upcoming onedayers.
But as long as Shiv plays tests---I will support the WI in tests.

That was a rare error in judgment by the great man---he totally forgot where his off stump was. Maybe he fell asleep for a millisecond. ;D hahaha
