Nov 7, 2013: It’s not just Sachin Tendulkar who will retire from Test cricket after playing his 200th Test match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai later this month.
Luckee Siingh, a city based businessman and a Sachin fanatic who claims to be the cricketer’s “friendâ€, has also decided to bid goodbye to Test cricket after Tendulkar’s retirement by never watching another Test match in his life.
Luckee is one of the few lucky ones who are getting a complimentary pass for the match from Sachin Tendulkar. And Luckee says he will treasure it for life. However, this is not the first time that he will be receiving something from the God of cricket. Earlier too, Sachin has gifted the young entrepreneur with cricket memorabilia.
About his association with the Master Blaster, Luckee says, “Paaji (Sachin) is really close to me. I used to know Virender Sehwag since he played Ranji. It was Virender Sehwag who introduced me to Sachin Tendulkar at a practice camp in Bangalore. In the very first meeting I was highly impressed with Tendulkar as I found him to be a very humble person. I don’t know what Sachin liked in me, but gradually we became good friends. Be it the IPL matches, ODIs or Test matches, I made it a point that whenever Sachin was playing, I would go and watch him. After Paaji retires from Test cricket, I will no longer watch any Test match in any stadium.â€
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
