When Sachin Tendulkar retires after the 2 test series against the West Indies later this month---Shiv Chanderpaul will become the most experienced international cricketer in the world. Shiv started playing tests in March 1994----that's 19yrs 8months and counting.

Rev, would Shiv be able to break his coach's record at Eden Garden?  Rohan has the hightest West Indian score there.    After it will be a flat track, designed for runs!

Shiv needs 170 runs to reach 11,000 in tests.

He should knock that off in the 2 tests against India.

The tracks for the 2 tests are being prepared to benefit the great Sachin----but the Maximum Leader also loves flat tracks----hopefully he will fill his boots----he first needs 170----then he can set his sights on RBK 256.

There is no question the great man's style is ugly and crabbie  and his scoring rate is pedestrian, but no one with a functioning brain can deny that when it comes to production and productivity Shiv Chanderpaul has delivered the goods with remarkable consistency during his long and illustrious career. And the bottom line when you are a batsman is the runs you score not how you score those runs.

I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team.
