Daniel Vettori is poised to make his return to first-class cricket after a 15-month absence when the Northern Knights start their Plunket Shield campaign next week.
Vettori continues to make a promising recovery from an Achilles tendon injury that has kept him out of most cricket since his last test outing against the West Indies in Antigua last July.
The 34-year-old played three one-dayers for the Black Caps at the Champions Trophy in England in June before opting for a second operation to fix the problem.
He played Hamilton club cricket on Saturday, a two-day game for the SkyCity Knights against the Wellington Firebirds in Mt Maunganui on Monday and Tuesday and a one-day match versus ND A on Wednesday.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
