Difficult one and I would stop doing what I was doing to watch both men. Lara always seemed more vulnerable at the start of his innings than Sachin but they have been equally innovative in their stroke play, can score rapidly and change the course of matches.
Sacking was equally good home and away whereas Lara's away record was not as good as him home record.
The good thing is both men are from the same era and will go down in the annals of cricket.
However for me it has to be Lara.

Seriously, I think if we're talking in objective stats terms, I think Sachin is probably some way ahead than Lara. But I can't just get past the finesse and aesthetic gorgeousness of Lara's batting. Obviously Sach is awesome himself, but Lara's eye candy. Period. I'm biased that way.

I'm from the West Indies so it's natural to say Lara but I think Tendulkar was a little bit better.
