Assad Fudadin was happy with his partnership with Kraigg Brathwaite but felt that West Indies should have not have lost as many wickets as they did.Here's more from the press conference at the end of day one.

On the pitch:

Well it's a pretty easy paced pitch. It is a little slow. You have to get yourself in. Its one of those pitches that is not coming onto the bat. You have to be patient.

On hearing "Rally Round the West Indies" before the match:

It's a great feeling playing for the West Indies. When the anthem is played you have a good feeling. Hearing it in his part of the world, it's a pretty good feeling.

On his innings:

Obviously as a batsman, when you get out you are disappointed. But it's cricket. I was already in and I was bit annoyed that I got out at that point.

On the challenge of facing Zaheer for the first time:

He is coming after an injury. I think this is the first time he's playing cricket after that. For my first time, facing him against the old ball was challenging. He moves it in, he swings it back in. You have to really focus and play him. He's a good bowler.

On the partnership with Brathwaite:

We lost three wickets then. Obviously the team needed a big partnership. The communication between us is very good. I've batted with him before and I enjoyed batting with him. It was good for the team.

On the crowd:

Well this is my first trip to India. The people here are cricket fanatics. The crowd is always wonderful. They cheer every single moment, every single ball. It's really nice to see people enjoy cricket. Test (4-day cricket cricket) that too.

On his team's final score at the end of day one:

I think we could have finished with 4 wickets. We lost two wickets too many. We need to try and start again. Try and build some partnerships and try to get us close to 400 if possible.
