In the wake of a recent spike in murders, especially the killings of youths, head of the National Security Council, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar yesterday ordered the police and army to hit the nation’s streets from last night to crack down on criminals.

The firm instructions were given to Minister of National Security Brigadier John Sandy at yesterday’s Cabinet meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister, St Clair.

Cabinet sources revealed the Prime Minister expressed such grave concern about the spate of killings in Laventille, Diego Martin, the East/West Corridor, and south Trinidad, that she took a decision at the start of the meeting to order the joint patrols.

She even pre-empted plans by Sandy to hold discussions with Deputy Police Commissioner Mervyn Richardson, who is responsible for anti-crime operations, on ways to tackle the resurgence in murders. Newsday exclusively reported on the Sandy/Richardson talks in yesterday’s issue.

The Prime Minister instructed that the police/army operations be carried out immediately in hots pot crime areas, as she took note of eight murders this past weekend of which five of the victims were under the age of 40. seems like I have been hearing that same charge recently..in Toronto here about the police and their inability to solve any crime at all.

kamla too sweet again.  titty is a small country..1 and a harf milion people..and she sits atop it all. 

what in heavens name could be going orn in Titty..the why and how and when of it.. dat she doh know?

she is a university educated woman, sorrounded by university trained people...titty and the westindies have produced all manner of clear, incisive and detailed assessment of we histree and sociology... which treated as the study of society includes everything...economics, anthroplogy etc.

so kamla cyar help but we well informed about the country..and region.. she leads.  if she is not she really dotish and stupid and willful in ignorance.

so she knows.  which is why calling out the military in shock by murders is granstanding..or gran'charge.

kamla is not shocked by anything.  as pm she mus' be mindful of the next election.  so she call out the military so the people 'can see' she doing something.

but kamla not shocked about no murders. 

she knows what goes orn in her trinidad and tobago and westindies... and what cyan happen in there. 

and she ent do nutten about it fundamentally in her years a PM so she knows what is likely  and what she must do politically in response... so she cyan win another election in the social mess that is Titty and the westindian region.
