A major project to lengthen the runway at Ogle Airport to allow regional flights and bring it to regional standards, and which will allow for the landing of ATR and Dash 8 series class of aircraft has been completed.
The European Union, through a CARICOM facility, and with support of the CARICOM Secretariat in Guyana and the Government of Guyana, had provided funding of 1.5M Euros for the Phase II project of the airport to lengthen it by a further 2,200 feet and widening it by 40 feet.

Today, the airport is set to commission the runway which it says is part of a bigger plan to improve that facility to make it a regional flight hub.

Given the number of flights at CJ airport, they should save that money.

Guyana does not need two airports near to each other. This money would have been better used to build one in Berbice.

it changed to Timehri.

if some small 25 to 50 passenger planes from caracas or paramaribo or brazil can go to ogle it will be great for business

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team.
