Our brother-in-law is in the wedding gift business and actually can take off wedding gifts as a business expense. Maybe his accountant is stretching it, but it's a way of promoting the business and to encourage gift giving. His boss would be himself, so I'm sure he's not buying a wedding gift for himself.
