It has been 11 years since Chicago violinist James Sanders created the superb Afro-Caribbean band Conjunto – but he often has wondered if he should even keep it going.
"Honestly, I get frustrated," says Sanders, who leads the group at Katerina's, on West Irving Park Road, on Saturday night.
"I think it's a great band, but it's so hard to get a place to play and feed the guys. There are times when I just wanted to throw in the towel, to be honest with you.
