As the war against womenfolk in the Caribbean rolls on sexual violence is now on the increase in Guyana. This horror seems to have no bounds as women ranging in ages in the nineties to single digits such as nine and seven are being raped and battered. The fact that safety of our women folk and females should be paramount seems to have eluded the government in spite of the outstanding work being done by Minister Vindhya Persaud. I refuse to accept excuses such as the pandemic or lack of resources as there si so much that can be in so many ways with so little needed resources especially is resource used is maximized instead of wasted in picture ops and publicity stunts and used to cover overheads instead of getting to brass tacks on tackling gender based violence. The bottom line is that all the talk in the world achieves little unless the people are provided with skill sets and resources to fight violence at its roots. And this is my personal perspective, not that of The guyanapassion.com.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
