I read with consternation similar gleeful statements in an article by Dr David Hinds and a commentary from Jinnah Rahaman.
Both Dr Hinds and Jinnah Rahaman having ties with the WPA demonstrate a myopic view of this whole political and constitutional fiasco that has embroiled the nation.
When this imbroglio is viewed by future generations, they would be grateful that the NCM, the court challenges and the chess moves on both sides of the divide would have allowed for the growth, development and maturity of this fledgling democracy. They would understand that the constitution was challenged at the highest level and that precedence was established. Moreover, future generation Guyanese would be wary of spent political forces, their mouth pieces and the barefaced shenanigans that have become the hallmark of the Granger administration.
The views of Mr Hinds and Rahaman read like jackals feeding off the carcass of this manufactured political and social unrest.
I posit that the real loser in all of this is not Jagdeo nor is it Granger.
The real loss is the colossal havoc wreaked upon this fledgling democracy. It is the loss of an opportunity for the PNC to truly demonstrate that it has shed its baggage of Burnhamism. It is a loss of the PNC to turn the pages on its dark past and assume a more pragmatic stance in acceptance of the paramountcy of the constitution. It is a loss of magnanimity and the prevalence of political dishonesty on all sides.
Every calculated and or miscalculated move by either side in this nasty game of one-upmanship is being pounced upon and leveraged by mouthpieces on polarized mainstream and social media for increased readership and ultimately political mileage. Messers Hinds and Rahaman are no exception.
As evidenced on a daily basis, these cheap theatrics are not the monopoly of the PPP and the PNC/APNU. The common man competes on social media with big media houses, political commentators and social and civil activists on every unfolding issue.
Any loss suffered by the PNC and the PPP would come at the March 2nd polls. Dr Hinds, Mr Rahaman and their ilk should allow the people to exercise their franchise and collectively speak with their vote.
In the meanwhile we would better serve Guyana and Guyanese by heeding the goodly advice from the scriptures of either speaking good or remaining silent.

Granger has dismissed the law and court rulings, ignored the them, reinterpreted them to suit his agenda, given lip service to them and now wants to used them in ways in which they do not apply! Even Burnham did not go this far!

Presidential candidate of the Change Guyana political party Robert Badal says that under his government, Guyana will be ‘blackout’ free and voters should judge him on his record as Chairman of the Guyana Power and Light Company (GPL).
Badal served as Chairman of the Board of the electricity utility from January 2016 to February 2018.
“The party promises that within a short time…that progressively, we will have less blackouts until it becomes no blackouts…our bulb will always be lighting,” Badal, whose party symbol is a light bulb, told Stabroek News in an interview last week.
“This is because we will put in the investments and ensure that we will reform and change the strategic direction of GPL in a manner that will make it very efficient, very profitable and without blackouts,” he added.
