On August 24th, 2019, the celebrated Guyanese writer died at his home in London, England, at the age of 92. Oonya, who is a novelist currently based in Canada revealed that her father was suffering from heart problems and on the date mentioned, “it just gave out.” Despite that, she said, he was always talking about Guyana.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

www.amazon.com/Buxton-Spice-Bluestreak-O...mpadoo/dp/0807083712
Buxton Spice is the story in the town of Tamarind Grove :
its eccentric families, its sweeping joys, and its sudden tragedies. The novel brings to life 1970s Guyana
-a world at a cultural and political crossroads-and perfectly captures a child's keen observations, sense of wonder,
and the growing complexity of consciousness that marks the passage from innocence to experience.~~

nice ketchim..intelligent stuff. but what I am really looking for is for some one to take apart the west indies from the peoples responsibility for it angle.
it is time to bell the west indian people. we have gotten away with our irresponsibility for far too long

i looking fuh ah comprehensive angle..social/political/economic..all in one..that most writers do at some point in their careers.
you see the west indies,,formerly colonial, slave/indenture...independence 60 years ago from 1961 to BG later on..long removed now..in a world in real economic crisis...
suffered the consequences of such a youth/formative centuries, become decrepit and backward, no longer in a flush of revolutionary youth 60 years on, but in the middle of the crisis and will suffer awfully if and when the crisis becomes full blown.....
how will they fare..how can they fare given who they are at this point after that history listed above?
I would love one of them real skilled and sensitive souls to dig into that bringing a humane flair to it..not me! I am a partisan bease' in the mix who want to kill this and that group, seek this or dat revenge, preach penance and seek vengeance
I wuss dan Vidiahar. and I cant think of a soul then and from then, older whom I would want to talk to me about today. it have to be someone from today who still have life to go on living, and can infuse that reality, that fact into their analysis
this lil fine Guyana derived gyul here, appears to have all the qualities. fit my job description
