GECOM’s public relations officer, Vishnu Persaud this afternoon disclosed that the ruling PPP/C has asked for a recount of votes at several polling stations on the East Bank of Demerara and in Georgetown.
He said this will therefore have an impact on the release of results from yesterday’s general election. Political observers point out that the recount call by the PPP/C shows that there is a tight contest between it and the APNU with the AFC placing third.
Persaud, speaking at the media centre at the Pegasus Hotel, also said that planes from Regions 1, 7, 8, 9 bringing crucial statements of poll have been delayed and this will also slow down the process.

They should still declare the results and then declare the recount too.

[color=rgb(51, 51, 51)]on cited was they did not have an agent at the polling station at the time of counting the votes. This means more delays. Some businesses are showing signs of preparation to baord up while some shut their doors all day toay. the streets were not very crowded. Other sites are goven more that an 11% voter figures but these are the official ones

Come to think of it...next time I would recommend that they bring people from all over to vote in one place...that will be easier...open a couple of thousand polling booths...and that will be over in a flash, votes will be counted, the integrity maintained, and the process more transparent. Now allyuh gon say....
