The Alliance For Change this morning said that early indications are that no party will gain a parliamentary majority.
In a statement, it said “It appears from these early indications that no one party will gain a parliamentary majority and the race is very close.â€
The party said it continues to receive information from its polling agents which showed the AFC “trending wellâ€. It said in some polling divisions, the AFC has surpassed the numbers posted by the parties which have traditionally controlled these areas.
In the key test ground of Whim, the birthplace of former PPP stalwart, Moses Nagamootoo, results from three polling stations collected by Stabroek News showed the AFC and the ruling party running neck and neck with the PPP/C gaining 296 votes and the AFC 272. Whim has been a traditional stronghold for the PPP/C but Nagamootoo’s joining of the AFC took support away from the ruling party.

Bingo ... if there is anyone to be blamed for the PPP losing votes, put the blame squarely at the fee of Jagdeo the arrogant ..... and now he will live like a king in his palace .... while it will be business as usual only with a different entity ....

No, and I don't think it was up to him to name a successor anyway... his arrogance was with the way he treated everyone who did not kowtow to him .... the way he treated his "wife" ... I can tell you he lost a lot of female support for that .... Jagdeo is to be blamed for the PPP losing support in Guyana ....
A lot of people were turned off by his vitriol and market behaviour ... decent people were turned off .. it's a pity because he is a brilliant man .....
