Umblita Claire Van Sluytman, was Indian, Portuguese and Dutch and became Miss Guyana at 19 years of age. She was quiet, gentle poised and beautiful.





She was the first Miss Guyana to go to the Miss World contest and was
loved by all who saw her. She was placed in the semi-finals and received letters from all over the world telling her she was one of the most beautiful and graceful woman they saw in the contest. She was a pleasure to
know and a great honour for all who met her. Umblita passed away in 2004, may her soul rest in peace
