Comedian Kevin Meaney Dead at 60

Stand-up comic Kevin Meaney was found dead in his New York home on Friday. His agent released a statement confirming the news and saying an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death. Meaney’s death was met with an outpouring of condolences from his fellow comics on Saturday, with many saying he stood out not only for his comic genius, but his kindness in an industry more known for its ruthlessness than anything else. Meaney was in the business for more than 25 years. His career took off with his first HBO special in 1986, and he went on to regularly appear on The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson. He is also remembered for appearances on The Late Show With David Letterman, Oprah and Late Night With Conan O'Brien. He leaves behind a daughter.
