The New York Mets are heading to their first World Series in 15 years, as Daniel Murphy hit an unprecendented seventh postseason home run to lead a sweep of the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Wednesday night. The MVP’s towering seventh-inning home run led his team to an 8-3 victory and became his sixth in as many games—a streak unmatched in Major League Baseball history. In Toronto, the Blue Jays beat the Kansas City Royals 7-1 in the fifth game of their series to avoid elimination. The series is now going back to Kansas City for Game 6, where the Blue Jays will have to fight to stay alive once more.
