Mount Vernon mayor gets probation on tax charges

Mount Vernon Mayor Ernie Davis has been sentenced to one-year probation and fined $10,000 on tax charges in White Plains Federal Court today.

Davis pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor federal tax evasion charges in October.

The 76-year-old had been under years of scrutiny by the federal government for evading taxes on the Sanford Boulevard property he sold in 2003

It's comical how lawmakers make laws to pay taxes that they themselves don't want to abide by. ::LOL::
