Roston Chase return to form came from keeping it simple
Roston Chase It was not long ago that Roston Chase was seen as one of a growing number of match-winning players in the West Indies ranks. Since that time, however, Chase has suffered long dips in form and has not done much saving. Chase, from 22 One Day Internationals averages 28.28 with the bat and has scored 396 runs but has scored just two half-

CPL 2019: Tallawahs stun Tridents in thriller
Jamaica Tallawahs picked up just their second win of the 2019 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after successfully defending 127 all out to stun Barbados Tridents by five runs in a thriller at the Kensington Oval. There appeared little hope for the Tallawahs after a largely disappointing effort with the bat, but the Tridents found themselves behi

Richie Richardson: Fastest blade in the Caribbean
Richie Richardson, it can be argued, was the last captain who led a formidable West Indian team. (Above) Richardson during the Hero Cup in Mumbai in 1993. (Express Archives) Richie Richardson was known for two things: his maroon sun hat and that brutal cut shot. The arms would whizz in the air, the bat would come down in a blur at the ball; a shot
Our batsmen need to ‘look at themselves seriously in the mirror’ – Holder
A target of 419, with well over a day’s play to go, was always going to be tricky for West Indies, but 100 all out in 26.5 overs was perhaps a notch or three lower than where the team wanted to be. Captain Jason Holder said their batsmen need to “look at themselves seriously in the mirror” after that display. “Our batters did not come to the party,

Guyana Diaspora Forum

We have a large database of Guyanese worldwide.  Most of our readers are in the USA, Canada, and the UK.  Our Blog and Newsletter  would not only carry  articles and videos on Guyana, but also other articles on a wide range of subjects that may be of interest to our readers in over 200 countries, many of them non-Guyanese  We hope that you like our selections.

It is estimated that over one million Guyanese, when counting their dependents, live outside of Guyana.  This exceeds the population of Guyana, which is now about 750,000.  Many left early in the 50’s and 60’s while others went with the next wave in the 70’s and 80’s.  The latest wave left over the last 20 years. This outflow of Guyanese, therefore, covers some three generations. This outflow still continues today, where over 80 % of U.G. graduates now leave after graduating.  We hope this changes, and soon.

Guyanese, like most others, try to keep their culture and pass it on to their children and grandchildren.  The problem has been that many Guyanese have not looked back, or if they did it was only fleetingly.  This means that the younger generations and those who left at an early age know very little about Guyana since many have not visited the country.  Also, if they do get information about Guyana, it is usually negative and thus the cycle of non-interest is cultivated.

This Guyana Diaspora Online Forum , along with its monthly newsletter, aims at bringing Guyanese together to support positive news, increase travel and tourism in Guyana and, in general, foster the birth of a new Guyana, which has already begun notwithstanding the negative news that grabs the headlines.  As the editor and manager of the publication, I am committed to delivering Blog entries and Newsletters that are politically balanced, and focused on the positive ideas we wish to share and foster among Guyanese.

ChristinaIt is time for a full evaluation and accountability to the people of this region for the disastrous batting performance of the West Indies Cricket Team. We cannot disregard what all of us witnessed and endured in the last three test matches. This is not about our players, administrators, or any individual; it is an entire system that is failing, and together, all of us must fix it now. This cannot continue into another series; we must not allow it to.(15.07.2025, 15:52)(15:52)0
