When Bish first started commentating he had the most monotonous sounding voice ... but he has gotten better.

Am not keen on Fazeer ...

I like Bumble and Botham is tolerable ..... not keen on Nasser.

Blofeld is unique .... but do miss the voice of Tony Greig.

James Brayshaw ... I find tiresome

My top 3 all time favourites are:

1.  Henry Blofeld.  Love his upper crust British accent but more than that he has the most unique way of describing the play, the players, and even small talk when things get dull.

2.  Geoff Boycott.  Love his anecdotes about his granny can do this or that better than the poor player he is slandering.  His other anecdotes are great too.  But he also is extremely knowledgeable about the game and calls it right down the middle with no bias.

3.  The younger Tony Cozier.  He was the voice of cricket on the radio when I was growing up and was absolutely brilliant in describing the play with that vibrant Bajan accent.  Now he comes across as an old whinging fart permanently stuck in the past.

Others of note:

Sean Devers.  Yes, I consider this guy a excellent cricket commentator.  He has been out of action for some time due to treatment for brain cancer but I would dearly love to hear his voice on commentary again.

Brett Lee.  As Cal pointed out on another thread Brett is surprisingly an excellent comm.  Unlike guys like Slater, Healy and Taylor, Brett calls it as he sees it with no obvious bias for a particular team or player.

Bill Lawry.  "What a ripper!!!" - enough said.

I respect and admire  Benaud for this  commentary when this incident  happened  ... He has done nothing since to change my opinion of him
