Paint and Dowrich are now the best test batsmen on this team. Both are very serious, hard working, patient and have learnt how to counter attack when the cause is lost.

I liked how Dowrich farmed the strike with Gabriel. His two innings vs Australia last year convinced me that he's very good; I love his patience. I see Paint and Dowrich developing like Kane Williamson.

Bravo is pure stress and should bat at 4.

I find Holder very irresponsible when batting, and both he and Carlos shouldn't be together on the same test team.

I'd drop Holder as captain too or force him to bat up the order.

Chase looked okay. He was the only batsman who attacked. I need to see more of him to form a proper judgement.

Samuels and Chandrika will be gone soon. Guys like Singh, Leon or Pooran can fill up these spots.

Spot on, Trini. Getting rid of Samuels, Chandrika and Blackwood would be a step in the right direction to firming up the batting. Samuels must have some incriminating photos of someone. It's the only explanation for his continued selection in the Test team. Blackwood struggled (albeit in a small sample size) in the 4 Day Regionals, and Chandrika has a career first-class average of 25.

Paint is quality. Dowrich impressed me. Chase has potential. Gabriel bowled with pace.
