Australia's Shane Watson hits 124 not out - second highest T20 score

There has been a lot of discussion among current and former cricketers about a need to change the ranking system. Mike Haysman spoke about this at some length on commentary during the recent South Africa/England series. He even wrote a letter to the ICC hoping for a simple explanation and received a 10-page letter in return that shed no real light on the matter.The system is way too complicated and no one has any real idea how the points totals works.

Just to emphasise his point, England have a .500 record in T20 cricket over the last 2 years, and yet somehow they are 4th in the rankings and just 3 points off the top spot.

Wow, this is a very interesting article. I did not know that, since I only became interested in cricket a little while ago. I will search who this man is and I will find more information about him and his national team.

But that's kind of what I was meaning. Australia played an experimental squad, they rested their two most influential T20 players so doesn't that show that they didn't really take the game seriously?

T20 IN Australia night have been a success, but the actual Australian cricket teams haven't embraced it as much as other nations I don't think? It might just be me then that gets that impression.

Unfortunately for Australia, Starc, Cummins, Siddle and Pattinson are all injured and Johnson has retired. It is hard to replace that type of fast bowling and so Australia have been forced to experiment with squad/fringe players in the hopes of finding suitable replacements.

The BBL has been such an overwhelming success that I am not sure how anyone can argue that Australia haven't embraced it as much as other nations. I am not sure if you watched any of this years BBL, but if you did, I am sure you would feel differently. There is a strong argument to be made that the BBL is now the premier T20 tournament. It was an incredible tournament that was fully embraced by fans, players and teams alike.
