From today, Saturday September 12, the Berbice Cricket Board will commence its premier round robin fifty overs first division cricket competition, the TENELEC TOURNAMENT.

This very important tournament is sponsored by Bobby Deonarine, the uncle of West Indies all rounder Narsingh Deonarine

and his business partner Tom Gruntzel, both based in Washington, USA.

Many top players are products of this tournament with names such as Deonarine himself,

other West Indies cricketers Devendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Assad Fudadin and Royston Crandon.

Many other West Indies junior cricketers and national players are also products of the TENELEC Championship.

What are the 17 directors of WICB monthly salary? What ARE the salaries of the 32 odd people who make up WICB staff? What is the total monthly salaries for people employed with WICB? When we get answers to these questions , we'll realise that these people earn more than the cricketers WHO GENERATE THE WICB INCOME.

The present admin does not seem to possess the capacity to deal with the issues at hand. Please recognise that the discontent of the players is symptomatic of a far graver ill. I continue my call for the restructuring of the WICB as well as regional bodies by involvement of all stakeholders: Past&present players, WI people and regional govts in a regional forum of cricket from which a new cricket body is mandated!
