Parnell is often awful. He takes wickets, but he can be terribly expensive. Of course it might all have been very different if Amla had caught Dhawan off Parnell's bowling when he had 53.

I was never sure that the selectors got the squad quite right. Ryan McLaren may have been struggling for form, but he may well have been a better option. And I'm not sure that Kyle Abbott is good enough to be there either.

They are don't want to  peak early!
