I would love to recommence writing some articles for you once I am able to especially some of the iconic games I have seen in the Indies and those stand out players and even some obscure ones who fell through the net.

Can anyone name a few players who they thought could go all the way and then disappeared off radar?

Yes he was one and I remember a chap called Harold Joseph who was one of the first mystery spinners I saw but seemed to have fizzled away.

Didn't Gray play for Surrey?

Bernard Julien was a fine talent but lost the plot and disappeared from the scene entirely.

Adrian Barath, touted by Lara but now in the wilderness.....

Yes, he did. And he was mighty impressive, especially that 1985 campaign. Six five-wicket hauls and 79 wickets total. His numbers were right on par that year with Marshall (Hampshire) and Walsh (Glamorgan).

Going back much earlier, Vic Stollmeyer and Andy Ganteaume are perhaps the yardstick by which all other one-Test wonders are measured against,
