How is that going to advance anything?

I know Mike Hussey made his test debut at 30 Jeffers is no Hussey with a FC average of 27!!!

The two Youths you mentioned could possibly be options in the future. Hetemeyer is only 17 and with 1 failed FC cap why would you want to overexpose him? Tage even you will admit he looked out of his depth in FC Cricket but with more FC experience, I am sure he will improve.

In summary mine, and perhaps the majority, view is Youths= young cricketers should follow a pathway unless they are exceptional.

Just in case you want to mention Lara and Shiv again, they had both had FC success at the time of their Test debuts.

The youths you are suggesting are 17 and 18 with a handful of failed FC appearances. Nothing about these two are exceptional and incidentally both Guyanese.

The Guyanese U19 team did a fantastic and convincing job in winning the regional U19 title against U19 players. Suggesting Tage and Hetemyer to play Test Cricket is preposterous until they show some pedigree at a senior level.


We can judge them after they have a good FC run which is a further training ground in their pathway, 'dung heap' or not.


I have no doubts you will be correct about the World cup but a steady winning team would give a better display and as you are rebuilding in this new phase, with a change of personnel you have been calling for, best to put your best foot forward.


The youngsters will get their chance as soon as they start performing.


You are yet to comment on the purpose of this 33 year old fringe player. What is the purpose?
