the worse test captains ever.....
west indies have 3....John Goddard, Dennis Atkinson, Darren Sammy
England proudly have Mike Deness..
India learned the lesson of Deness long time to appoint tests like Ghulam Ahmed, an old man to lead India against west indies.
I don't think the Oz ever appointed a bad captain..not even the 20 year old kid in 1958, Ian Craig. and the Kiwis and Pakistanis always seemed to have their men for that job ready to go

Mike Denness the first Scots to play for and Captain England. I believe Gavin Hamilton is the only other Scot to have played for us.
I have very fond memories of Mike Denness and it is interesting he captained 19 of his 28 tests.
Interestingly Denness, statistically for those Captaining more 10 or more tests, was much better than Gooch, Gatting, Gower, Atherton, Stewart, Flintoff, Greig, MJK Smith and not surprisingly Botham.
[glow=red,2,300]The Aussies had the crying Kim Hughes who might well rank as their worst Captain ever. [/glow]
