I am of the opinion that batters need to posses a certain set of skills to be able to perform against the fast bowlers. Like, they need to have a cool temperament and should not get carried away when the bowler tries to intimidate him. They should also have a well-developed front foot and back foot game. They should be apt at playing shots with a straight bat and have good front foot movement when the ball is swinging.

Most importantly is keeping Eyes on the ball :
knowing when to leave.
when to shoulder arms.
when to play on the back foot
when to flash outside off .
