It would not be overstatement when I say that Australia are currently the best team in the world at the moment. To start off, they won the Ashes comprehensive with a 5-0 victory over a strong english team who were expected to win the ashes themselves. They also beat them comprehensively in the ODI and T20 formats of the game. And now, they have started very strongly on their South African tour, winning the first test match in a convincing manner. They currently have a great balance in their side with almost all the players peaking at the right time. They will be the favorites to win the upcoming T20 world cup.

Well first of all, the sample size is still small - needs to play more outside Oz to know anything conclusive. Hopefully they will, I am much more confident about this side, and the team is hardly dependent on Clarkeh - that's a MASSIVE plus as opposed to previous series.
I except them to do well in T20s with the squad they've got in, but what has this got to do anything with T20 though? They've just had 1 T20 series to "prove" their efficacy, they've lost a lot of T20s before.

I completely agree with your point that they still have to play good cricket outside of Australia in order to be recognized as a great team. But their current run of performances has shown that the current crop of Australian players have the mettle and potential to be the best on the world stage. And yes, its a huge plus that they are no longer hugely dependent on Michael Clarke, which they have been over the recent years.

Sorry for the shitty grammar first of all, I mean *expect
Now - I agree with what you said. Potential wise and balance wise, I like this team - and has been the best in a long time. You've got a fairly solid batting order, players with ability to play spin, terrific pace bowlers and one with the X factor to extract life out of a dead track as it stands, and a decent spinner who is more than adequate despite not being exceptional.
I think this is probably the most settled unit since the departure of McWarne.

Windies fans have been overdosing on Whizz & Phensic for more than a decade now .......
WICB need to recruit whosoever is responsible for getting AUS cricket back on the right track in such a short space of time as Factory Road just don't have a clue !!! .... in other words, they couldn't organize a p!$$ up in a brewery!!!
We're down to #8 in the Test Rankings and I'm done with the analgesics for Windies cricket .... time to rally for some other team if my interest in cricket is to continue !!! >

Hopefully, yes :-[
Although expecting SA to fight back hard here. Steyn and Philander can't be just kept silent for more than one match, so it's mostly about the bowlers ripping the batsmen a new one I'm worried about here.
If they manage to score 300-350 ish, I'd expect Mitch to do the rest tbh.
