When Otis Gibson was part of the English team , they were a powerhouse. Look at them now.
Given time Gibson will transform the Westindies team into a solid unit.
How many coaches can say that they are world cup winners?

I think the selectors and administrators have a challenge unique in world cricket.
However that challenge becomes insurmountable due to their seeming incompetence.
This type of office should have time limit and the selectors should select the best irrespective from whence they come.
Given where the team is I would not advocate massive change except change of selectors, captain and coach but the later will have a reprieve as would the selectors.

And as bad as things seem to be with English cricket today, it is not as bad,
and it has not been as bad as West Indies cricket
has been these past 18 years or so. >

West Indies cricket needs to get back to the days when cricket, good cricket :
was the order of the day, when managers were selected on merit or availability,
when positions were filled by quality and not by nationality,
when petty nationalism and politicians did not interfere,
or try to interfere with team selection.....

when an offending player was defended by his country's representative on the Board,
when no one made a player believe that he was untouchable,
when players had good discipline,
and when players, irrespective of who they were and how much money they were making,
respected those who were in charge.

Gibson's service was much appreciated but he had charge of a well oiled set of bowlers. He was not there for a long time.
England's success is not down to him. Dates and results must be checked unless one wished to attribute the mullering we recently got in Oz to him as well.

He is entitled to his views but it is so narrow there has never been any room for discussion.
Crap and run. So personally I would not bother.
