There you are once again talking about other people when I challenged you.
Have I taken sides or ganged up with anyone?
You seem to make spurious remarks when you have no answers.
I admire your fascination of numbers, as I am, and you should continue to churn them out except when you make blanket statements you need to normalise them.
Even if you do not adjust for consistency of comparison, kindly accommodate constructive debate instead of say how right THE REV is.
Analysing numbers is timely so we should be grateful for you at least giving us this really interesting perspective.

easy:
* You said if Sanga's stats against minnows were taken out they would make little difference to his average.
* I gave you the answer:
===================
*If you take out Sangakkara's record against Bangladesh, Zimbabwe he averages 52.90
* If you take out his record against Bang/Zim/ and the West Indies---he averages 52.78
* Overall Sanga's average is 56.59
====================
* My question to you is what the hell do you want to argue about ?

Once you factor in the limp bowling attacks over the last 15 years, and the way Sangas pads his stats vs Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and in Asia, his career average becomes less impressive.

No offense Rev, but your statistical cherrypicking is incredibly annoying.
Sometimes you compare DIRECT stats without any context. And now you're cherrypicking some other aspects.
Stats are USEFUL, but you can always cherrypick from given stats. And useful doesn't translate into "that's all what matters". There's much, much more to it.
If not, why even bother watching cricket? Lets all play cricket simulation, because stats are just what matters.

"No offense Rev, but your statistical cherrypicking is incredibly annoying"
There's no cherrypicking by Rev. I've been on two other cricket forums, and this is how Sangakkara discussions always go.
Sangas has 6 centuries outside of Asia only, 1 vs Australia, 1 vs England, 2 vs NZ, 1 vs South Africa and 1 vs a super minnow Zimbabwe team. The Australia game had one decent bowler, the aging Brett Lee. The SA and England games had stronger bowling attacks, with Sangas scoring at a strike rate of 40 to 50.
Sangas greatest innings are probably in ODI actually. He has about 3 ODI innings where he cuts loose like a madman against big bowling.

Kyle:
* All's cool!
* The Rev is a very understanding man.
* You are clearly not mathematically inclined and therefore will never understand the Rev's point of view.
* But that's OK. You're a good poster. Keep reading and commenting.

It is shocking! Kumar Sangakkara is yet to score a hundred in the current series against Pakistan.
* In 18 previous tests against Pakistan Sangakkara has scored 9 hundreds
* The 3rd test is currently being played between SL and PAK----no hundreds for Sanga.
3RD TEST:
SL 220/5
Sangakkara 52
