* Well, it's good to see the Rev inspired you to delve into the subject of opinions versus facts. ;D
* Your post above would make for a good college essay.
* I'll grade you a solid B+---you went off on too many tangents.
BOTTOM LINE:
The Rev likes to keep things simple. No need to muddle things up.
One last thing---you mentioned
"failure results in decisions that are inconclusive."
That is absolutely correct---but the Rev has a another twist on failure----here it is:
Failure is good---failure is a part of life---we fail all the time---if you don't fail you never learn---and if you don't learn you'll never change----look at West Indies cricket----the players are not learning from their failures---and so the team keeps failing---success comes when you learn from failure.

Soca:
You are free to intellectualize, rationalize and explain away all you want.
Go right ahead.
May I remind you that the subject of this thread deals with "TOP 5 BATSMEN".
The great Brian Lara listed his Top 5; the amiable Rev gave his list. ;D
NOW! I AM YET TO SEE YOUR LIST.
Instead you are trying to engage the Rev in a little repartee
. ;D
Listen! The Rev's style is nearly always shaped by SIMPLICITY.
There are some, mainly those who pride themselves in being wizards or intellectuals, who go out of their way to make the simple complicated---but making the simple complicated is commonplace----any Tom, Dick, Harry or Socafighter can do that ;D---the Rev prides himself in being the opposite---I try to make the complicated simple, awesomely simple ;D. And that is why you find the Rev being very numbers oriented in his discussions even on a cricket site---I find numbers to be a wonderful tool for reasoning.
Anyway Soca---keep up with your intellectualizing, rationalizing and explaining away---I am rather enjoying your trying to make the simple complicated. ;D hahahahaha
