The bespectacled Bruce Pairaudeau started off in style with 115 for West Indies against India in Trinidad in 1952-53 on his debut, but his Test career nosedived with a vengeance after that. In 20 further innings he only got into double figures six times, and he was bowled in over a third of his innings. His last appearance came against England at Headingley in 1957. He made his debut for Guiana in 1947 aged 15, scoring his maiden hundred the following season when 16 years and five months. He later went to live in New Zealand, playing for Northern Districts for several seasons, ending up as their captain.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
