CricInfo is reporting the death of a 32-year-old South African cricketer during a Premier League match. He took a blow to the head after trying to play a pull shot.
I've seen some frightening things on a cricket field, but I hope I never get to witness anything like that.

Dont you believe that . That was how the media portrayed them as but the Russians made me a fan of the game.
They possessed extraordinary skills/ Canada got lucky in 72 and won the first canada cup with the best Russians not playing .
The Russians won the second canada cup as well as the challenge cup beating the best of the NHL.
You cannot say that players like Makarov , Kruktov and Larionov were emotional less . One of the best defence man ever in the NHL was Konstantinov of Detroit

That is your opinion. My hockey does not stop at the NHL.
I saw all those defence men you listed in their prime with the exception of Harvey and in my opinion none is greater than Valieri Vasilev . The one that came the closest is Bobby Orr
Another great forward that you probably never heard was the Czech player Ivan Hlinka

I didn't even think of the possibility that he wasn't wearing a helmet. But I googled Darryn Randall and according to one report he was wearing one.

I realise that other sports are dangerous too. And it's not only the players who are at risk. Officials can be too. The incident that's always stuck in my mind was when a tennis linesman died after being hit by a Stefan Edberg serve in 1983, when Edberg was still a junior.
