That kind of interest in Otis Gibson is testament to the class and quality of the WI coach. Being considered for a position without even applying for it speaks volumes about the man.
Given the record that Gibson has compiled during his short stint with WI, it is not difficult to understand why a venerable cricket club such as Glamorgan, established in 1888, and which had won the English County championship multiple times, would be interested in acquiring his services.
I know that nobody on this forum wants to hear anything positive about Gibson and Sammy but you just have to grin and bear it.
The fact is that they have reinstituted discipline among the ranks and have taken WI Test cricket from the near bottom to the mid-pack and rising.
In T20 cricket, they have taken WI cricket to the top of the world and they have developed a world class bowler in the process.

However, the West Indies board rejected suggestions, that Gibson could return :
to the County he played for in the 1990s.
where he was a mediocre shytehound slow medium bowler ::LOL::

His nomadic career took him to Glamorgan, Staffordshire, and three South African provincial sides.
Frustrated by niggling injuries, he took up coaching and found work with the ECB
before returning to the game with Leicestershire in 2004....

He was named as England's bowling coach for the tour of Sri Lanka in the autumn of 2007
He spent more than two years with England before giving up the job :
to join the cabal of West Indies fat cats , iErnest Hilaire and Hunte whom was seeking a Yes man
as they proceeded to destroy Cricket in the Caribbean in January of 2010
