This topic is avoided when Windies cricket decline is discussed but circumstantial and anecdotal evidence points to the fact that a conscious effort is made to exclude and marginalised cricket players of Indian descent from the west indies team.
When there are two players of equal abilities , one black and one indian , inevitably the black players is pushed and given many opportunities to succeed, an example of this would be Narsing and Devon Smith
In one swoop Sarwan Narsing and Ramdin were denied central contracts and at the same time Chanderpaul wasbeing pushed to retire . It seems that when they are forced to play Indians on account of ability , the windies management structure realy hopes that they fail and even a minor slump by these players is a ticket out of the team an eg. of this being Ramnarine and Nagamootoo.
TO BE CONTINUED but in the mean time feel free to add other examples in this line of thinking

Gayle is being punished , not for insubordination to the WICB but because he dared to stand up for Sarwan
