but i understand that the ebooks are still a lot cheaper than the paper ones.

libraries used to offer ebooks for free....but i believe there is a movement to get this stopped

ebooks are usually cheaper for new titles,  but not so much anymore if you buy online. they cut their margins to better compete with e-offerings.
