NEW YORK (AP) -- Investors thinking of buying a piece of Facebook after it goes public are hoping it will perform like Google, whose stock has risen 500 percent since its debut seven and a half years ago.
But they may want to spare a thought for companies slightly less exciting — a truck leasing company, perhaps, or a manufacturer of ball bearings.

The pilot of a Brazilian airliner made a safe touchdown on the weekend following an entry into the plane's cockpit.
A crazed passenger entered the cockpit of the TAM Airlines jet, assaulting the pilot before crew members and passengers managed to hold him down.
The plane, which was en route from Montevideo, Uruguay, to Sao Paulo, flew into trouble when a man wearing TAM identification entered through the open door of the cockpit.
Passengers were shocked by shouts coming from the cabin and a sharp pull on the plane's steering mechanism.
After the pilot managed to call for help crew members grabbed the man and pulled him out of the cockpit.
While he fought back with bites and punches, crew and passengers managed to eventually immobilise him by tying him to a seat.
The jet finally landed safely at the Porto Alegre airport in southern Brazil.
Police took him from the plane at which time he again became violent.
It is believed a stun gun was used before the man was transferred to a mental facility.
